Why do people jobs they don’t like?

    1. Because, being hungry is a bitch!

    2. Because they have been indoctrinated that jobs are not about being enjoyable, and that you can’t have a job that is fun, because then it couldn’t be a real job.

    3. People don’t feel empowered to accomplish anything. They feel reprimanded by society for every dream they ever let slip in passing conversation. They are afraid. It takes 30 years to own a house, but only a day to build it (with a large enough team). You think we like that? We aren’t empowered. CakePHP changed my life. Not because it is better than Ruby on Rails, but because it proved to me that some people do feel powerful enough to actually make something, solve a problem, hack when all else fails.

Or it could be that the job description left out some crucial verb or modifier that made the job seem less than dismal. Either way, nice blog! I’m not to cakephp :) Me likey.
