Why do people buy DRM-enabled products?

    1. Because Big Entertainment doesn’t want you to do what you want with the media you buy - they’d rather have you pay every time you watch a DVD, burn a CD, listen to an MP3 on your computer/MP3 player, watch a TV show at any time other than its scheduled showtime . . . and they want to get this system in place under the guise of “protecting copyright” or “protecting the artists”. (Bullshit, I say.)

And people buy DRMed products for one of three reasons:

      1) They believe the bullshit.
      2) They don’t believe the bullshit, but they don’t particularly care.
      3) They know it’s bullshit, they care enough to want to do something, but think that resistance is futile.
